民國八十三年慈濟醫學院創校成立人文室，於人文室中設立「人文教育組」，負責全校通識教育相關業務，自民國八十六年八月起，為加強通識教育課程之實施，正式成立「通識教育中心」，業務掌理通識教育及其他通識相關事項。於86年1月18日本校第10次校務會議通過「通識教育中心」設置案，後於第11次校務會議決議將通識教育中心納入學校組織規程中。後因學校組織變革，於98年設立共同教育處後，通識教育中心於民國98年改隸共同教育處，107年改隸屬教育傳播學院。113年為提升教職員生更具國際競爭力及更高的教育品質，慈濟大學與慈濟科技大學合併，現隸屬於博雅天空書院。

Center Introduction

In 1994, Tzu Chi Medical College established the Humanities Office, which included the “Humanities Education Division” responsible for general education-related matters. To enhance the implementation of general education courses, the “General Education Center” was officially established in August 1997. The center oversees general education and other related matters. On January 18, 1997, the 10th University Affairs Meeting approved the establishment of the “General Education Center,” which was later incorporated into the university’s organizational regulations in the 11th University Affairs Meeting. Due to organizational changes, the center was integrated into the Office of Common Education when it was established in 2009. In 2024, to enhance the international competitiveness of faculty, staff, and students and improve educational quality, Tzu Chi University merged with Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology and is now affiliated with Liberal Arts Sky College.
